Torre 12 Project
This is a refined, elegant, and minimalist apartment designed for a young professional working in the construction industry, with a keen eye for aesthetics.
As you will discover, one of our client's main requirements was the use of a neutral colour palette.
The velvet and black iron stools were strategically placed to make changing shoes easier upon arriving home. They were chosen to complement the frame of the CIRCUM mirror. The mirror itself features a grey-toned finish, which adds depth to the space.
The client wanted a rug in the entrance that would stand out, so we proposed the REVIVE rug from our collection, with a deconstructed classic look. This is the kind of rug that becomes even more beautiful with age.
In the living room, the furniture was custom-designed and crafted by our team, featuring a finish we have truly fallen in love with: burnt eucalyptus wood with a deep matt finish.
Black iron is also a recurring element throughout this project, incorporated into various details, including the table legs, the sides of the sideboard, the LUCA ceiling light, the abstract line art panel, and the set of black and gold vases.
All these pieces are available at madeirarosa.com.
The LOLA lamp, featuring a concrete base and a matt black iron upper section, creates a mysterious and atmospheric ambience when placed above the sideboard. Its distinctive lighting effect provides a soft, subtle glow, almost like an ambient night light.
In the living area, we introduced a sofa with clean, simple lines, crafted with high-resilience foam that retains its shape, alongside a versatile ottoman that can serve either as a chaise longue or a coffee table.
In addition to the books, which are an essential feature of any coffee table, a Scandinavian decorative bowl in brushed gold adds the perfect finishing touch, bringing elegance and a subtle touch of sophistication to this living space.
In the hallway leading to the bedrooms, we placed the patchwork version of the REVIVE rug. We also added a set of candle lanterns on the floor and a photograph I took of the Chrysler Building.
I had never given much thought to this photograph, but just a few days before proposing it to the client, I visited a Frida Kahlo photography exhibition in Porto. There, I came across an older photograph taken from almost exactly the same perspective as mine.
That unexpected discovery made me rediscover and appreciate my own photograph, giving me the confidence to suggest it to the client.
And he loved it!
For the bedroom, we opted for a symmetrical arrangement, with matching bedside tables and concrete-base lamps on either side of the KIRA bed.
The bedside tables feature a combination of black iron and burnt eucalyptus wood finishes, while the EDIE wallpaper brings all the elements together, adding warmth and creating a cosy, harmonious atmosphere.
